First Pass Building Data Moderation

The first time a building is uploaded, make sure to spend some time on these fields.

“First pass” building data moderation is the first time anyone is laying eyes on the building data for a particular building. It is important to spend a little extra time on the "first pass" because this information is generally more static so get it right the first time and the entire team will benefit.

  1. Get the primary building image and store in TrepBi. Focus efforts on images from marketing brochures, landlord website, leasing company website, google or other publicly available sources

  2. Additional images of the building or building amenities are great too (stored in same place as primary). That said, quality over quantity. The LAST IMAGE UPLOADED WILL BE THE FIRST IMAGE DISPLAYED so be sure to upload the “primary” last.

  3. Get building marketing flyer / brochure (if not provided by local team) and store in TrepBi.

  4. Confirm data points:

    1. Address vs Display Address. Use the Address field to specify where you want the dot on the map. Use the Display Address to describe the address that will appear on any final deliverable (if you want to say Street instead of St. or if you want to remove the zip code or whatever!). The Address will default to the lat/long provided by Costar. However, you can copy/paste any lat/long from Google Maps to change the exact point. Note the highlighted instructions below the Address Field. Go to google maps, right click anywhere on the map and the first line item is the lat/long which will get copied for you when you click it. Then just paste it into the Address field.

    2. First Office Floor. Pretty easy to figure this out from marketing brochure and/or costar. Not required though.

    3. Parking Type. Pretty easy to figure this out from marketing brochure, costar, and/or google & google maps.

      1. If “Garage” is selected, a secondary field appears for Garage Type. Detached means the actual garage is a separate structure from the Building. Usually adjacent to the building or near by. Other option is “Below Office” meaning either underground or above grade if the first floor or floor(s) of the Building is parking garage (usually CBD/downtown).

    4. Website. Costar has more of these than I expect. If not there, then I can usually find through google or the marketing brochure and going to the leasing agents website.

    5. Amenities. Will be pulled in from Costar but we want to verify if possible. There are five (5) that TrepBi cares about right now. Any synonym of one of the following amenities will work:

      1. Fitness Center

      2. Conferencing Facility

      3. On-site food

      4. Showers

      5. Outdoor amenity space (could be balconies, terraces, etc.)
